Hi Tribe Christmas is over and new years celebrations over and done it's now time to get back to the exciting task at hand of bring the Willunga basin and southern suburbs its very own community radio station.
The place where the most energy has been placed this month is preparing for the smart green expo at the Colonnades shopping centre. First i would like to thank Teresa Miller for giving this opportunity to canvas our project to the people of the south and wow what a response .but before we get into the results of the expo I would to acknowledge the work of Don, Sam and Robin in preparing the stall and the construction of our pamphlet. with contributions of quantitation from the premier of our state Mike Rann ,our major Lorraine Roseenburg federal member Amanda Rishworth and many other prominent members of our community helped make compelling reading and conveyed our message in an interesting way.
Now what can i say about the work of our fabulous artist Robin Turner who's giant sunflowers captured the imagination of all who saw them. They were colourful and exciting and talk about eye catching our giant four meter high blow up frog, made by the beautiful and incredibly talented Evilen Roth, was truly something to behold with its three meter tongue flapping in the breeze proudly stating our name was a fantastic promotion and for all of tribe fm we thank you for all your kind effort.
One of the benefits of doing the smart green expo was always going to be attracting new people to our cause and one bright and talented young man came our way by the name of Razz wow what an immediate positive impact has he made not only in gathering signatures but also with taking on a leading role when things got tough, which i will expand on in Februarys news letter,. he has also created us a fantastic wed site, www.tribefm.com.au, that i urge you all to get on board and register as an on line member as this will give weight to our licensing push, so get your friends to do the same that would be great Razz is going to have a major role in looking after the needs of the youth as our station develops so once again thanks Razz and i look forward to working with you in the future
The people who have now put their names forward to help with its development now numbers 60 so thanks for your interest and stay tune to see where you can help. Signatures are now over 2000 and also hits on the web site are over the 2000 mark only days after the site opened. Thanks to all that attended the last meeting and a special mention to Eddie for showing us the possibilities with pod casting.
With the risk of forgetting some people who helped out through the expo I would like to thank the following Robin, Don, Sam, Razz, Kylie, Jill, Samera, Gillian, Elizabeth, Rino, Wison, Josh, Carla, Tony, Allen, Mic, Sally, Chris, Evelinand rod if I have forgotten anyone please tell me.
