Hi Tribe Well it’s becoming more and more exciting as every day goes by, because the dream of having our very own green powered community radio station is getting closer by the minute. After almost a year of gathering support from the southern community, the efforts of Rachel, Robyn, Don, Andrea, Scott, Austin, Dennis, Jack and Ryan in collating data and piecing together the application for our temporary broadcasting license, is hopefully exactly what we need to get us over the line and into our test broadcasting stage. The document with all its signatures and support letters ended up being 70 pages with one very special support letter from our Premier, Mike Rann. I’d like to thank everyone that sent us letters of support and all those who gathered signatures or signed the petition, which gave us a lot of weight in our push for this station to become a reality. The AGM was a fantastic event that took place at Waverly Homestead. Thanks go out to the fabulous dancers from TRIBE VIBE and also Kasanté, who did a great job. Jeff is also to be thanked for bringing some sound equipment and playing some songs. The barbie was great but the best thing that happened was the formation of the first official Board. What a fantastic array of talent - more than any of us could have wished for. At the top of the table we have a Chairperson that brings to Tribe a wealth of experience, enthusiasm and intelligence that will see us in good stead for the birth of this exciting project and hopefully for a long time to come, so it is with great pleasure we all can welcome Rachel Hudson to that position. We were also very excited to meet Andrea Malone, who already has given us fantastic input into our application with her knowledge and experience with the ACMA so thanks for that Andrea, as well as the very generous donation for our membership to the CBAA. The historic first Board is as follows: Rachel Hudson - Chair At the first meeting of the new Board, the following Working Groups were established: Programming – Scott Davis *Membership of these groups is open to everyone, and if you are willing to volunteer some time and skills to any of these areas please get in contact with the leader as they would love to hear from you* Stay tuned folks for more information, and until then take care and enjoy.
