What they say about Tribe FM PDF Print E-mail
"My first job out of uni was on radio. I believe radio is the most democratic form of media. Unfortunately, the majority of commercial radio nationally is homogenised, computerised and preprogrammed. Community radio puts the local back into broadcasting. Community radio has replaced the town crier and town hall debates as the forum for ideas and opinions in local communities around our state. Most people working in community radio are volunteers, but most of their output is professional. We would be a much poorer country without community radio."
- Mike Rann, Premier of South Australia
"With global challenges that face us and our future, any efforts made by each of us as individuals or collective group to reduce our footprint on the environment are essential. Bringing ideas to the fore by this Project is one great way to remind us of our responsibility."
- Lorraine Rosenberg, Mayor of Onkaparinga
“Community radio is important in building strong local communities. It also ensures that locals get a say in their area and we need that in the South"
- Amanda Rishworth, Member for Kingston

“This is a great opportunity for students to get into radio production and broadcasting in the local area. The Outside Broadcast would be a brilliant way to enable their own productions to go on air live.”
Austin Tily, Media teacher Christies Beach High School

“This community radio station needs coverage of the Willunga Basin, Sellicks Beach to Meadows area. Our aim is to be powered with renewable energy.”
Jack Connell, ABC Radio

“Art and artistic endeavour should always be encouraged and a green powered community radio station will give the platform that is needed for this to be a positive reality.”
Robin Turner, Renowned Artist

“Community Radio for the South could be an exciting, educational and enjoyable opportunity that we all embrace.”
Don Chapman, playwright, coordinator Playback Willunga
